Ticket purchase

Rates

The rates are the prices for the rental helicopter, regardless of the number of passengers. Our prices are valid from November 1st, 2016 and include VAT and liability insurance. They remain valid for the period of validity of the ticket. Rates are subject to revision each year and depending on the evolution of airport taxes, fuel prices...

Purchase

The ticket is purchased without date and payment is made online. The customer receives by email an acknowledgment confirming his purchase and his ticket, essential for boarding. In accordance with regulations and practices of distance selling, you have a 10-days withdrawal period from the date of purchase of the tickets. All cancellation and refund requests within this framework must be sent by registered letter to SAF Helicoptères, CS20060, 73202 Albertville Cedex, joined by tickets and your bank details. After this delay, no cancellation will be possible.

Booking

Flight bookings can be made by phone or by email at the respected helicopter base. Contact information is listed on your purchase confirmation. Booking requests are accompanied by the recipient's name, his contact information and the ticket number. For helicopter flights, you should contact the helicopter base at least two days before the flight (or at least on Friday for Monday flights) to confirm the feasibility of the flight (weather condition), the take-off place and schedule appointment. You must also communicate the passenger list (full names) and their weight, necessary for flight preparation. After confirmation, you must go to the indicated place at least 15 minutes before the scheduled take-off time. The schedule is not guaranteed and the SAF Group is committed to do its best to meet them.

Validity

Tickets are valid for one year from the date of issue and are not refundable. It is possible to extend their validity period of one year for 40 euros. However, if you have made at least three booking attempts at the respected helicopter base, your ticket may be extended by one year on request at no extra cost. The request for extension must be made before the expiry date of the original ticket.

Flight completion

Flight conditions

Flights are operated under visual flight rules, such as defined by DGAC regulations. Flight times and circuits are approximate and depend on the state of air traffic, flight authorizations and weather conditions. Flight completions are subject to competent authority authorizations. In the case of a change in weather conditions or a helicopter malfunction, the part of the non-performed flight will be rescheduled on the same day, on a later date or can be refunded.

Insurances

Each passenger is covered by the civil liability of the aircraft used, at no extra cost. However, risks are covered for comparable amounts to those required by the Warsaw Convention, in terms of air passenger’s transport. The transporter’s responsibility towards the passengers, in case of death or personal injury, is limited. The onboard load (fragile, of value) by passengers is not taken into account by our insurers. It is your responsibility to take out additional insurance if you feel it necessary.

Boarding conditions

For boarding, all passengers must have its flight ticket and a valid ID card. As captain, SAF Group pilots have authority during the flight. They reserve the right to refuse on board or disembark any person or cargo that could jeopardize flight safety. They also have the right to shorten or discontinue the flight for flight safety issues. The passengers positioning is done by the captain, based on morphology and weight of each passenger to respect the balance of the aircraft.

Cancellation

Cancellation by SAF Group

The SAF Group reserves the right to cancel or postpone a flight in case of force majeure, bad weather conditions, technical unavailability or any other operational reason. Cancellation can be performed more than 24 hours or just before the takeoff. In this case, the voucher remains valid during its validity period and another date will be set in agreement with the client. However, the SAF Group is not liable for travel, catering or accommodation expenses incurred by the client to go to the take-off place.

Cancellation by the customer

If the customer cancels the booking at least 48 hours before the scheduled flight, the flight will be rescheduled at a later date, during the validity period of the voucher. If the customer cancels the reservation less than 48 hours before the scheduled flight or in case of no presence of the customer at the date and time provided, the flight will be considered as completed and the voucher will be lost (unless admissible pattern, studied case by case and on evidence).

Special conditions

Availability

Flights are subject to helicopter and pilot availabilities when booking. The SAF Group reserves the right to change the helicopter type provided when booking, with the proviso that it does not impact the number of passenger seats.

Weather

An accurate weather point is performed by the pilot 15 minutes before takeoff. If the weather does not allow the completion of the planned circuit, we will offer either another flyover (with appropriate pricing) or the possibility to postpone the flight at a later date. In the case of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, tickets remain valid during their validity period. Weather reports fail to permanently anticipate in advance the feasibility of a flight.

Force Majeure

Mechanical incidents, which may engage the persons and goods safety, occurred during the pre-flight inspection or in flight, that would cause the delay or cancellation of flight, are considered as force majeure.

Modification of the service

The SAF Group may, without notice, change the type of helicopter (provided that it does not impact the number of passenger seats), the take-off place and the planned circuit.

However, in France, in virtue of the articles L.321-3 and L.322-3 of the code of Civil Aviation, the responsibility of the transporter is regulated by the Warsaw Convention and every other convention which modifies it and is practicable in France, even if the transportation is not international as meant in this convention.
